PETER HORNE TRANSPORT PTY LTD

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

Peter Horne Transport Pty Ltd is committed to reducing the impact of its operations on the environment. Peter Horne Transport’s environmental policy consists of a series of commitments that our company aims to achieve.

These commitments are:

To ensure we meet compliance with environmental acts, regulations, by-laws and industry standards.

To take in to account environmental considerations in our business planning and to continue to surpass our environmental performance aiming to better vehicle fuel economy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

To continually seek efficiencies in the use of resources, including energy, chemicals, water, packaging and other materials.

To reduce, re-use and recycle wastes wherever possible.

To encourage employees to be involved at home as well as the workplace with a focus on environmental improvement.

To provide the necessary training to our employees and communication to all customers to meet our environmental goals.

As part of our environmental responsibility, we have installed a 10kW Solar Power collection system.

This has the maximum number of solar panels allowed for a single phase system under the current

solar scheme. Electricity generated by our solar panels supply power to our depot shed, workshop

and lighting for the yard area.

In addition to the solar panels, we have eight 22,500 litre water tanks and capture 180,000 litres of

rainwater – reducing our reliance on underground water. This water is mainly used for drinking and

washing company vehicles. The run-off is then used to irrigate surrounding land.
